Here are some common questions and answers about planning an event, to get you started.

General

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes – generally we take a deposit of 25% to confirm the booking date, but the deposit may be larger for some services. The deposit is non-refundable; if you have any questions about this please ask.

What about other charges?

Loss and damage charges may be levied at different rates for certain services; we will of course supply this information to you well before your booking. There may be seasonal variations in prices for services (e.g. seasonal food),  and price per head may vary with the number of expected attendees.

Silent disco

How long do the headsets last?

On average about seven hours; long enough for your most hardcore disco fans!

How many channels?

We support up to three channels. Each listener can switch channel whenever they like, and adjust their own volume to suit.

Are the headsets suitable for children?

Yes — one size fits all.

Cocktail bar

Does the bar come with drinks?

This is optional. We can supply beverages, recommend suppliers or work with your caterers, and make a special celebratory cocktail for you or from your favourite recipe.

Do I need insurance?

No – EJ Events has full liability insurance for your event.

Will I need to supply power?

Yes. We will require a minimum of two dedicated 13-amp sockets, but we will supply all necessary extension leads. All our equipment is fully PAT-tested.

Disco and DJ

What sort of music do you play?

That’s up to you! Our DJs are versatile and comfortable with music old and new.

Can I supply a playlist or a theme?

Yes! If we don’t have the tracks you want to play, we’ll find them for you. Or we can supply music to fit the theme of your event.

Do I need insurance?

No – EJ Events has full liability insurance for your event.

Will I need to supply power?

Yes. We will require a minimum of two dedicated 13-amp sockets, but we will supply all necessary extension leads. In some cases more sockets may be required; we will advise if this is the case. All our equipment is fully PAT-tested.

How much room is needed for a typical lighting and dancefloor setup?

Our main dancefloor is four metres square (4x4m), but we can supply larger or smaller dance floors on request. Lighting rigs have heights starting from 2m and can be as high as 4m depending on the room or marquee.

Karaoke

What music is available?

We can supply most major hits for karaoke; if you want to sing something specific, just ask!

Do you supply display and microphones?

Yes! We bring everything you need for a proper sing-along.

Kids parties

Do I need insurance for inflatables?

EJ Events uses a third-party supplier for inflatables. Our supplier is covered by a £5 million Public Liability Insurance from a  UK-based company, which is regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

What do I need to know about safety?

Inflatables are certified for safety under the PIPA scheme and all electrical equipment is fully PAT-tested.

Marquee hire

Will I need to supply power?

Not necessarily. We can provide diesel generators to supply power for marquee facilities and lighting, but we can also use mains power from the site.

When is site access required?

We generally assemble marquees the day before and disassemble on the next week day, but in many cases this can be fit around your schedule.

Staff and Security

Are your security staff fully trained?

Yes; all our security staff are fully trained, SIA-certified and licensed to provide a safe event.
